Sclairfilm®

Exopack Performance Films provides the marketplace with its branded Sclairfilm® range of products. The high performance monolayer films are available in clear and white and provide high integrity sealing and moisture barrier. Sclairfilm® co-ex films utilize resin extrusion up to 5-layers for enhanced oxygen barrier. These products are available to further enhance converted laminated rollstock, bags or pouches.


Sclairfilm LX

Sclairfilm LX is a linear low-density polyethylene film with an outstanding combination of toughness and durability. It has superior tensile strength, puncture strength, elongation, and heat-seal strength compared to other sealant films. The exceptional 'hot tack' strength of this film helps seal areas withstand stresses even while in the molten state. In addition, the Sclairfilm LX film's ability to seal under a wide variety of sealing conditions, including grease and oil contamination, make it ideal for use on vacuum packaging equipment.

  • Ideal for lamination to other materials, such as nylon or polyester films

Sclairfilm SL
Sclairfilm SL is a linear low-density polyolefin film which offers a combination of toughness and durability, plus outstanding clarity. In particular, Types SL-1 and SL-3 have superior tensile strength, puncture strength, elongation, and heat-seal strength compared to conventional polyethylene laminating films. The exceptional 'hot tack' strength of SL film permits seal areas to withstand stresses even while in the molten state. Its ability to seal under a wide variety of sealing conditions, including grease and oil contamination, make SL film ideal for use on vacuum packaging equipment.

Sclairfilm A-514

Sclairfilm A-514 is a linear low-density polyolefin film specifically formulated to provide optimum sealing and durability performance for coffee packaging applications.


Typical Applications

  • A-514 film has been specially formulated for use in coffee 'brick pack' and other coffee packaging laminations.
  • A-514 film provides excellent durability, resistance to moisture, and hermetic sealability when laminated to polyester film, nylon film, foil, or cellulose film.

Sclairfilm GL

Sclairfilm GL is a general-purpose, linear low-density polyethylene sealant film designed for less critical sealing applications than Type SL film.


Typical Applications

  • GL film may be used in converter laminations with barrier films such as Mylar® polyester film and Dartek nylon film.

Key Features

  • GL film provides good heat-seal and hot-tack characteristics, along with good physical strength and opticals.


Sclairfilm A-354

Sclairfilm A-354 is a modified LLDPE formulated to seal in a lower temperature range than LLDPE films, while retaining excellent physical and seal strength characteristics.


Typical Applications

  • The low sealing range of A-354 film, combined with its outstanding physical properties, make it an ideal sealant film for meat and cheese packaging (i.e., gas-flushed pouches) where lower seal temperatures are required to improve runnability and increase processing speeds.

Sclairfilm LE

Sclairfilm LE is a high-performance, LLDEPE/LDPE-blend sealant film designed to offer a wide sealing range and excellent hot tack for use on form-fill and seal packaging equipment.

  • The LE film series is designed for use in laminations to Mylar polyester and Dartek nylon 6, 6 for demanding vertical form fill and seal applications.

Sclairfilm SVA

Sclairfilm SVA is a modified LLDPE film formulated to heat seal in a lower temperature range, while retaining the outstanding physical and seal strength characteristics associated with Sclairfilm.

  • The low sealing range, combined with the outstanding sealing and physical properties, make SVA an ideal sealant film for meat and cheese packaging applications where lower seal-jaw temperatures are desired to improve runnability and increase processing speeds.

Sclairfilm LWS

Sclairfilm LWS is a linear medium-density polyolefin film produced from SCLAIR copolymer resin and designed primarily for laminating end uses. This film differs from low-density laminating films in its increased stiffness, better grease and moisture vapor properties, and improved heat resistance. LWS film is treated on one side for both ink and adhesive bonding properties. It is available in a medium slip level for a variety of applications such as vacuum packaging, VFFS, and pouches.


Typical Applications

  • For laminating to other substrates (such as DARTEK nylon film or MYLAR polyester film) for heat-in-bag, boil-in-bag, and portion packaging applications.

Sclairfilm WS

Sclairfilm WS is a medium-density film for plain and printed overwrap applications. Available as a low- or medium-slip film with good sealing properties and sheet flatness characteristics required for good performance on polyethylene overwrap machines. The film is treated to give an excellent printing surface.

  • Can be used for overwrap or bundling applications where superior machineability is a key criteria.

Sclairfilm MPP

Sclairfilm MPP film is an oriented LLDPE film which combines exceptional 'strength' and flex-crack characteristics with the outstanding heat-seal and hot-tack properties of Sclairfilm.


Typical Applications

  • Because of its truly exceptional puncture, impact, and tear-strength characteristics, and its outstanding flex-crack resistance, up to 50% down-gauging of the sealant layer can be achieved when using MPP sealant film in a wide variety of meat, cheese, coffee, snacks, medical, and industrial applications.
